Kurali is a small city and a municipal council in Mohali district in the Indian state of Punjab.
Kurali is administered by an elected municipal council. The town is serviced by a government hospital, post-office, as well as several schools and colleges.
Kurali sits on National Highway 21 with direct access to Chandigarh and other parts of Punjab. The city is accessible by bus and supports a rail station with direct routes to other parts of the country, including Dehli. The nearest airport is Chandigarh Airport, approximately 30 km away.
The town's railway station is one of the oldest operating railway stations in the State of Punjab and has been used as a set piece for several Bollywood movies.
Kurali supports several educational institutions. Chakwal Senior Secondary School is the oldest school in the city and National Public School was the first English middle school in the area. Other schools are Guru Harkrishan Public School, D.A.V. Model School, International Public School and Khalsa Senior Seconday School.
In addition, the area also includes the senior secondary school, IET Bhaddal, Indo-global Mirzapur, two colleges in Sahauran (Rayat college and Doaba College) and Sarawati nursing college.
Business and industry
Kurali was a very popular market for Jaggery and Ground nuts and is a famous market for sunflower and sugar cane. Kurali has a developing industrial sector due in part to the Government Industrial Area established in the early 1990s. In Kurali Paul Book Depot is most popular General & Book Store. Paul Book Depot is on NH-21 Road.
Every year a fair is organised at "Gassianwale" Temple.
Another religious center is Swami ji Nadi parr wala maharaj Temple, a very old temple.
A historical Gurudwara is situated near bus stand where the 6th Guru of Sikhs visited.
