An Introduction:
National Institute of
Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level
institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a
centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical

training the future teachers, research scientists, and managers for the
industry and profession.

the needs of pharmaceutical industries and other research and teaching
institutes.

Collaboration with Indian industries to meet the global
challenges.

National/International collaborative research.

Curriculum and media development.
·
Study of sociological aspects of drug 'use and abuse', and rural
pharmacy, etc.

Conducting programmes on drug
surveillance, community pharmacy and pharmaceutical management.
Courses conducted:
Masters (M.S. (Pharm.)/ M. Pharm./ M. Tech. (Pharm.)/M.B.A. (Pharm.) and Ph.D. in the disciplines/prog. of Medicinal
Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Natural Products,
Pharmacology and Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biotechnology,
Pharmaceutical Technology (Biotechnology), Pharmaceutical Technology
(Formulations), Pharmaceutical Technology (Bulk Drugs), Pharmacy Practice,
Traditional Medicine, Regulatory Toxicology,
Pharmaceutical Management and Pharmacoinformatics.

Central Facilities of the Institute:
National Bioavailability Centre, National Toxicology Centre,
Central Instrumentation Laboratories, Technology Development Centre, National
Centre for Safety Pharmacology, Centre for Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology,
National Pharmacoinformatics Centre, Central Animal
Facility etc.

All departments are engaged in research and development catering
to the needs of small and medium pharma industry and
other institutions to resolve their problems.

Also engaged in research on priority areas and national programs
such as-Tuberculosis, Malaria, Diabetes, Leishmaniasis and
Immunomodulation.

Institute organizes continuous education programs.
