Deputy Commissioner
works as an important link between State government and general public. To take
the state government's programmes and policies to general public and to
implement them and in maintaining contact with govt. regarding needs and
problems of general public and regarding districts all-round activities,
Deputy Commissioner has an important role to play.
At the District and
Sub-Division level, general public has to face lot of problems for lack of
correct information. This charter has been prepared to make the administration
people friendly and to fully know and fulfill common man's administrative,
social, economic and other needs and problems. In this complete detail of D.C.
Office's all branches and all govt. activities being done under them have been
provided.
This citizen charter has become all the more important as now a
common man or any citizen of state has a right to get information regarding
govt. activity which is covered under Information Act 2005 in his own distt. or
area or at personal level.
Information Act has been enforced by Centre Govt.
to bring more transparency in general public and govt. departments. Under this
Act one Information Officer has been appointed in each Department, from whom
general public has got a right to obtain any type of information within 30 days.
If information is regarding life or freedom of a person then department is bound
to give that information within 48 hours. If any application is returned, the
concerned officer has to specify the reason for that. If application is rejected
then applicant can file an appeal with State Information Officer; who can mark
an enquiry regarding that complaint.
At Distt. level Assistant Commissioner
(G) is designated as Chief Information Officer, who is committed to supply
information under general public's right to information. This information can be
obtained in writing by depositing a little fee.
Aim of
Citizen Charter
In this charter details of
services being provided by D.C. Office to the citizens, to provide high quality
services by Govt., Semi Govt, institutions and to take care of citizens
facilities have been given. Besides these its purpose is to make the citizens
aware of new rules notified or amended from time to time and to maintain contact
between govt. & general public regarding all-round development in the distt.
Its purpose is also to obtain suggestions of general public regarding govt.
works being done in the distt. and to improve the working of the govt.,
departments and to act upon it.
Besides these, its aim is to make the people
aware regarding natural calamities and to help the people out of these
calamities. It also gives information regarding main historical, cultural and
religious gatherings in the distt. which have deep relationship with the people.
